Camera Set Up

I shoot in a digital world with a Canon EOS 40D. I worked with the 20D for a long time before the camera gave out on me, and to really top it off that 20D I once owned decided to break down on me in the middle of a wedding shoot. Lucky for me, and the couple, I always bring a backup camera with me for emergency. The main lens I use is old faithful, a 24-105mm EF L Series lens from Canon. I bought it used off my friend Brad, and that lens captures an amazingly clear picture. It was pricey, but well worth it. For those far away shots I work with a Sigma 70-300mm zoom lens. It's not the greatest zoom lens in the world, but it does the job. I plan on upgrading to Canon zoom IS zoom lens in the future, but the one I have works well for now. When in the dark I use a Sigma 500 Flash. It's a good flash, and after I worked with it for a while I got used to adjusting to shooting with a flash. I prefer to shoot in natural light, but when you need it, you need it. To make sure I can get all the photos for big events, I work with four 2.0gb Compact Flash cards, and one 1.0GB card. This gives me 9 gigs of photos to work with. Well over 3,000 images. So it's more than enough, though I do tend to fill them up while shooting weddings. Lots of great photos, lots of great memories.

Digital Darkroom

I think it was 2003 when I bought my first computer. A Sony Vio Tower, and because I've never plugged that guy into the internet it still starts up like day one, and I've never had any major problems with it. That computer, named Ashley, is a workhorse. I've been running Photoshop 7.0 on it since I bought the computer and it does everything I need and then some. So touching up the photos, reworking the images, and storing all my work is great on my work computer.

I am hoping to upgrade soon though to an iMac, and getting photoshop CS4. Not to say that I don't like the Sony Vio I have now, but I think it's just time to upgrade and move on up. I think I'll name that new computer, when I get it, Ashley 2...
