What to Wear
You want your photos to be "about you," you should choose something that you are comfortable in, and something that you like. Black and burgundy are colors that work well with dark backgrounds. For light backgrounds and most outdoor settings denim, pastels, and whites work best. Although I really try and tell people to stay away from blacks and whites as colors really tend to bring out a photograph.

With your shirts, long sleeves are usually best as bare arms tend to distract from a person's face, and that is the real focus of any portrait. You might consider bringing different outfits for different poses. Short sleeves and tops can also look good. Don't wear thin striped shirts, as it tends to not look good at all in photographs. Thick bold strips are good.

Most important is to be comfortable and wear something you are comfortable in.

Last but not least, props. If you have any type of item that you would like to have in the photograph with you, bring it. It's always a blast to incorporate items into a photo with the person.
