I love these kids.  David and Sandy are a blast, and to be able to be involved with their wedding was a true blessing.  There is actually a funny story as to how I got the job... Sandy had a photographer already in mind, set in stone.  However, Sandy was doing her wedding planning by the book, and the book said to interview at least three photographers.  Well David asked if they could interview me for the job, but was kind enough to warn me that she already knew who she was going to hire and that I wouldn't get the gig.  I was going to the wedding either way, so I didn't mind helping Sandy go "by the book."  I met with them at Sandy's mother house, we talked for awhile.  I showed her some of my photos and told her what I'm all about.  Capturing the moment and having fun.  Well a few day's later David called me and said, "Well Donald.  Sandy really, really likes your stuff, and the job is your if you want it."

I was thrilled and so happy I got to capture their big day, as it was a wonderfully short and sweet wedding.  They also optioned to have a first look before the ceremony and get their photos done.  So we had a lot of time to play and get some fun moments of the two of them and the whole wedding party.

David was so happy to see his bride for the first time he giggled and said, "It's mine, it's all mine."  It was wonderful.

When Sandy was putting the ring on David's hand she pushed away his left hand thinking she had the wrong hand.  SO she put the ring on his right.  David did as a good husband should and just listened to his wife and let her place the ring on his right hand.

After the ceremony and short reception we traveled down to the beach where David proposed, where I shoot their engagement photos, and what they now call "their beach."  It really is... and we got some great shots.

I really hope everyone is enjoying the Johnson Wedding Photos.  I am still really excited about them, just as excited as I am about sharing the photos from Sandy and David Albert's wedding last Saturday.  It was a short, sweet, and beautiful wedding.  It's been a late couple of weeks with two weddings back to back, but I have to say that I have loved every minute of it.  Capturing love is truely a blessing, and I'm so thrilled that they asked me to be their photographer.  So as soon as Dave and Sandy get back from their honeymoon and see there photos I'll be posting them here to share with everyone else.  And I can't wait... so in the mean time, here is a taste of what you'll be seeing next week...

I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am to share these photos with you.  The whole day was a blast to spend with both Kristen and Dan at their wedding.  I seriously had so much fun, and was so pumped with the photos I came home with that I managed to get them all done very quickly.  All my favorites are the ones where you can see how much fun they all have together, and the others that show how in love they are.  And I just got off the phone with Kristen and she gave me the ok to post them so they could see them first thing when getting back into town.  So here are some of my favorite photos, click on over to the photography page to see them all.  And enjoy...

I was able to work with Isabella last year when she was still small and tiny... she braved some cold weather that day to get some great shots.  This time around though she got to play and have fun on a wonderfully warm June day.  She's a bit bigger now, but still has that same great smile, along with some other new looks to share.

In the middle of our session a small bee flew by Isabella and I captured this great face...

This past weekend I had a wonderful time photographing a wedding and some 1 year old baby photos.  I had a blast with both, and have some fun photos to share with you guys.  I have another wedding I'm shooting this weekend, and so I've just been keeping myself busy working on photo after photo so I can go into this next wedding shoot with nothing else on my plate.  Last night around 11:15pm I finished with the Johnson Wedding photos from last Saturday.  I went back and forth all night on if I was going to post them or not.  They are out enjoying their honeymoon right now, and I would like to wait till they get back so they can see them first.  Then again I would love to post them now so you can all enjoy them as well.  So after much thought I decided to wait till they return so they can see them first.  But that doesn't mean I can't show you a sneak peak with one of my many favorite photos.  So here is a fun shot of Kristen...

One of my many, many favorite photos from the day.  You're going to love them when I post them all here soon.  In the mean time I'm going to start working on the 1 year old photos I took of Isabella Bumgardner.  You can see her first set of baby photos in last years album.  She has grown a bit of course and we got some great shots of her enjoying the warm Sunday we had.  So check back soon and I'll have some photos to share.  Promise.

It's funny how children all react differently to the camera.  Especially newborns, they don't know what's going on and while most are comfortable with the camera a select few just love the camera.  Khloee is one of those little girls that just loved the clicking sound of the camera.  We had a lot of fun taking photos, and it's always so amazing how small kids can be.

And I've always wanted to get a photo of a newborn being held by a dad with sleeve tattoos.  My dream finally came true.  Her dad works at a tattoo shop down in Santa Maria, and he has some cool work done on himself also.  But this isn't about dad... it's all about Khloee.

These two were an absolute pleasure to work with.  Melissa e-mailed me a few weeks back about shooting her engagement photos and wedding.  After she had a chance to shop around (as everyone should) she called me back and offered me the job.  Talking to her was always fun and I was looking forward to going up to their home in Templeton to meet them and have some fun shooting these photos.  Now I always love meeting new people, but even more than that I enjoy the times when I can make some new friends as well.  Both Melissa and Frank were a blast to work with, and touring their home on a 30 acre vineyard made it that much more fun.  Their dog, Buddy, was also a pleasure to work with... and really helped complete a handful of the photos we took.  Melissa likes to say that Buddy has her hair and Franks eyes.  I thought it was very true, and way too funny.  They're getting married at their home in August and I can't wait to get back up there and hang out with them again... they really are a fun loving couple.

Two weeks ago my wife and I were able to celebrate our friend Jake's Birthday with him and some friends.  We enjoyed the time out of the house and getting to hang out with some good people.  While there I took a couple of photos to share.  A shot of the kids enjoying their chocolate cake, a rare photograph of Sean, and of course the wife.

Last Saturday I spent the day in Santa Barbara taking some stock photos for Heritage Oaks Bank.  They are looking for local photos for their Business First Debt cards.  I'm so stoked to think of my photographs being in peoples wallets all over the central coast.  It's a cool thought.  I got a lot of photos from around Santa Barbara that they requested, and I think they turned out pretty good.

Element holds Baptism every handful of months.  Last Sunday a few more folks came into God's family, and I was asked to come and take some more photos.  Last time I stayed in the pool after my baptism to get some unique shots.  They turned out pretty cool and I was asked to go again.  So there are a couple of shots from last Sunday posted today for you to enjoy.
